As I’m sure most would agree, great night of fights tonight! (UFC on FOX 3)
Johnson vs. Barry was a great fight. Barry showing those great leg kicks and also ground transitions. Barry as he has wanted for awhile now went for a submission against Johnson but wasn’t able to pull it off. Once both fighters were back to their feet, Johnson buried Barry in hooks and uppercuts to finish the fight via: Knockout.
Belcher vs. Palhares was a great fight for anyone that appreciates the ground game. We got to see some great transitions and submission attempts from both fighters. It’s almost unheard of for someone to get the leg away from Palhares, but Belcher did. Stayed calm, weathered the storm and finished the fight via: TKO in the first round. Belcher said he’s coming for the best and clearly sending a message out to the middle weight division by stating he’s now proven to be the best on the ground.
Hendricks vs. Koscheck for most, a hard fight to call. I had it as a possible draw due to Koscheck coming forward and also the take down in the third. Hendricks really proving to everyone he’s a hard hitter and Koscheck felt that tonight. Hendricks won via: decision and I’m very interested in seeing who he’s set to face next.
Diaz vs. Miller, allow me to start with #WARDIAZ! What a great performance by Diaz tonight. Showed great movement, striking and also ground work. Diaz coming forward as always and hardly giving Miller a second to breath. Once on the ground in the 2nd Diaz was able to sink in the guillotine to finish Miller in his home town, Jersey. From what was said by Dana White via: Twitter, Diaz is now in line for a title shot but would be put on the shelve for 9 months due to the Edgar vs. Henderson rematch at UFC 150.
